Solid 401: CNC Training

[8 Hours]

8:30 to 4:30 (30 minutes allowed for setup)

Who should attend: Users of Solid Manufacturing and Solid Professional

Purpose: Provide the student with actual shop experience where the knowledge gained in the previous training is used in a shop setting with actual part output.

Curriculum: SOLID 401 The student will learn to produce intelligent parts to run CNC machinery. Utilizing the previous training, the student will setup a construction method and add parameters to the program through formulas, UCS’s and Intelli-Joints. The student will produce all of the necessary information to make actual parts on CNC machinery including operations setup through the Cabinet Wizard, UCS and Intelli-Joints. This class requires a specific project be produced for CNC machinery. This project will be one of the requirements for Certification as a Cabinet Vision Solid Pro. (CVSP Certified ©)

After Completing Solid Design 401: The successful student will be qualified to implement the Solid program for use in a high volume automated cabinet or furniture shop, or a custom shop building unique items on a one-of basis. The student will be eligible to take the tests necessary for certification as a Cabinet Vision Solid Pro. (CVSP Certified ©) Certification requires completion of SOLID 101, 102, 201, 202, 301 and 401 including the SOLID 401 project and a written test. The CVSP individual will be required to attend at least one seminar on annual basis to retain his certified status. (See information on “CVSP Certification Benefits and Obligations”.)

Class Requirements: The following are necessary for maximum benefit to the student:

1. The student should have successfully completed SOLID 101, 102, 201, 202 and 301.
2. Cabinet Vision will provide the computer, and other necessary equipment.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 (NT is not supported).
4. Prior Cabinet Making experience is recommended.
5. Ability to follow safety instructions and work in a shop environment. Medication that may result in drowsiness must not be taken on class day.
6. Safety equipment will be provided, and must be used during class time.
7. The instructor will use the most current build of SOLID for the class. Contact the Training Department to make sure you have this build installed before the day of your class.
