Asylum are one of the world’s leading designers and producers of models and special effects used in TV commercials and blockbuster movies. An example of their award winning work is the model of a Walther handgun for the James Bond film, ‘Die Another Day’ which was designed directly in Alphacam.
According to Asylum, Alphacam “is worth five model makers,” not only through its modelling capabilities, but also through its inherent accuracy and productivity. This is far superior to anything even the most skilled model maker could achieve and the company admits that the software enables them to accurately manufacture parts that just could not be made by hand.
Gaudi’s stunning Sagrada Familia in Barcelona attracts over 2 million visitors each year and is revered by the World of Architecture as one of the most original and ambitious modern buildings. Construction started in 1882 and is not expected to be completed for another 80 years.
Alphacam has been chosen for the manufacture of models to verify the geometry and, indeed, to streamline the production of components from locally quarried stone.
